In reply to the discussion: Assange: 'I am a big admirer of Ron Paul' [View all]Peace Patriot
(24,010 posts)This has nothing more to do with Assange's whistleblowing than Bradley Mannings' transvestitism had to do with his whistleblowing.
I think Assange is mistaken, naive and uninformed to say that the 'libertarian' wing of the Wingnut Party is the only hope for our democracy. My opinion is that the only hope for our democracy is throwing out the 'TRADE SECRET' voting machines, over which the far rightwing-connected, wingnut ES&S corporation (which bought out Diebold) now has a 75% monopoly in the USA--and by which wingnuts are being (s)elected for high office. That's how we got this wingnut, UNREPRESENTATIVE Congress and a number of wingnut governors and state legislatures.
I wish Assange had some secret files on THAT!
But my opinion of his opinion of the R. Paul's doesn't make him any less of a whistleblower and a very courageous one at that. I don't care if his politics are mistaken in my view. I agree with everything he's done, as to whistleblowing, and he has been viciously targeted by the very same secret government establishment in this country that has destroyed the rule of law.
