While I see your point and do appreciate it:

There were lots of references to Dubya as a chimp (you may still find usernames referencing that). And where do you think the website "Smirking Chimp" got its name? Personally, I think it's an insult to chimpanzees, who can be quite intelligent. But I agree in theory at least, it's very disrespectful to the office and the country. On the other hand, IMHO the country deserves some disrespect for allowing that charlatan to get anywhere close to enough votes to steal the election like he did. Oops, there I did it again.

All that said - if I haven't completely lost you by now - it's common sense not to post stuff about shooting the president, regardless who he is and how much you despise him. And as long as we claim to support democracy and accept that we have at least a quasi-semblance of one, people need to accept the results and just work to change the results the next time around, rather than going around talking about shooting elected officials.
