UPI blog dated today links to Wisconsin Gazette story from 2011. Alternet story from today quotes (but doesn't link to) KCCI (Des Moines, IA) story from 2012. Also there's a KRMG (Tulsa, OK) story dated three days ago that links to the same 2012 KCCI story. The KCCI story links to the KETV (Omaha) story that I linked..

Looks like KRMG resurrected this story on Sept. 9, 2013 for unknown reasons, and then it spread to UPI, alternet, etc. The KRMG story says that the sentence reduction occurred "last week", but it links to the KCCI story from March 2012 which says that the sentence reduction occurred "Wednesday."
