(1,314 posts)Sadly, we use the chemical stuff. We live in Southern California, and the fleas are pretty much year round. Especially since we haven't had much rain in the past few years (from what I heard, the rain does them in, don't know how true that is).
We were using the drops, but they stopped working, so we know use a tablet called Comfortis. I'm going to ask the vet about harmful effects. Plus, the drops, made my dog freak. I think she could taste them after we put them on her shoulders. She would pace around for about a 1/2 hour. Sad.
Let me know if you discover anything natural that works. I know some people use that Citrus stuff (they used to advertise it on KTLKI think it was Stephanie Miller). But I haven't heard that it works well, and we usually have flea bites after leaving their home.
