I don't catch hardly any talk radio now due to my new job and schedule. But it works like this - the day after that story it was all hands on deck drilling this home. Their listeners will never know that it was retracted and it will still be mentioned from time to time to keep it as a "fact". And yes playing victim FOR this guy will be the start of it... Without telling the audience why.
