One of the frustrating things about DU (at least for me) has been the posts about the latest nonsense from Rush Windbag, the Coultergeist or the Beckerhead. None of these people have changed anybody's mind in years. Even worse than that, they make no rational arguments while trying to make a point. Apart from the fact their arguments are premised on facts that aren't or on multiple informal fallacies. Ann Coulter always seems to put forth a premise that such-and-such leading Democrat is a "fag." Perhaps that Democrat called for withdrawal from Iraq or asserted that more stimulus is needed to get the country out of the recession or she just said it out of the blue. In most cases, it isn't true. Even if it is true, it doesn't matter. Even if homosexuality is the cosmic evil she believes it to be, it has nothing to do with whether the US mission in Iraq was ever achievable or whether part of the solution to the problem of the Great Recession is to put more money in consumers' pockets so they will spend it, preferably on American-made products.

Now, having summarized my case, I'll draw my conclusion: The best thing to do with right wing media personalities is ignore them.
