I think you are confused. Your article is talking about Edward Kennedy's belief which is quite different than Robert Kennedy's view. Evidently Edward Kennedy bought into the Warren Report hook, line and sinker.

The NYT article you reference does not discuss Robert Kennedy's belief there was conspiracy in the assassination of JFK, where the article I am posting "Robert F. Kennedy saw conspiracy in JFK’s assassination"is central to that issue. The Boston Globe article states that Robert Kennedy did believe that there was a conspiracy.
