It is possible Zimmerman is very much NOT made of "killer material", and cannot emotionally reconcile what he did
with being a "normal" and "good" person, regardless of what he might say publically.

Only HE really knows how it all went down, and how cold-blooded the actual shooting was.
The only other witness was Trayvon.

This is almost certainly the most UN-equivocal thing Zimmerman ever did in his life.

If he regrets it on some level now, he could never admit it publically, leaving him
very very alone, and mis-understood.

That is very isolating---Most people do not handle isolation well at all.

There could also be a deep-seated self-hatred growing like a tumor inside him.
Quite possible, I think.
