Bashar al Assad should have been our man. He was an ally and helped us in many situations.

Then someone got the wise idea of supporting an Islamic Republic and we were goaded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar into supporting the terrorist radicals. Israel also wants Assad gone because it weakens Hizbollah. Israel would have a much easier time bombing and killing a self-declared and brutal islamic republic.

Assad proved too strong and with Russian help, he has managed to stay. We should support his secular regime that won't bring about misogynist sharia to Syria.

I say we should tell the Saudis that if they don't shape up, we'll support Iran and Syria to bring down the bloated monarchy.
