If it was, an autopsy will show it pretty much immediately.

If he managed to get a gun with his hands behind his back and began trying to turn it around in his hands pulling the trigger while it was pointed up at his head it would be pretty easy to have an accident.

It came up in my pathology rotation in med school. The guy was manipulating the gun and had his head turned around as much as he possibly could to try and see what he was doing. Blew the front of his head off when he accidentally pulled the trigger.

If that happened the big question is, how in the hell did he manage to get a gun with his hands behind his back? Did he have it in his waistband and wasn't searched before being cuffed or did he manage to grab one lying around.
