(57,596 posts)15. Thirdly, the "deal" is almost certainly fraudulent...
The NSA to my knowledge doesn't have the legal power to offer it, and for all the "so-and-so of the year" awards Snowden is racking up, he'd end up looking like nothing more than a hypocrite blackmailer, assuming he was ignorant enough to actually take any offer on the table...
I'm pretty sure this 'deal' is just a ruse to beat the bushes...A smokescreen just to see how the other side will react...
