I don't know what will come out of the whole thing, but I hope that mayor Zimmer is vindicated.
Other Democratic mayors have said that things were made easier for them when they endorsed Christie (they got what they needed faster and without any complications). That was the reason why they had endorsed him. Although this is politics as usual, Christie and his people appear to have been particularly heavy handed.
