I spent some time thinking about your point. Ecclesiastes isn't the most hopeful of pieces, but in those six words, Pete shifts the whole focus back to hope and community. Still, there are in Toshi's additions something so deeply humane and personal and intimate. My boys are all in their 20s and 30s now (I have 4), but I wish I had known Toshi's verses when they were little:
A time for dirt, a time for soap
A time for tears, a time for hope
A time for fall, a time for spring
A time to hear the robins sing.
