In reply to the discussion: APNewsBreak: Wendy Davis supports open carry law [View all]freshwest
(53,661 posts)65. Agree with 'the rights of women, poor, LGBT and immigrants' surpass one issue.
Those who aren't affected by the outrageous stances that Abbott advocates may feel free to live under his rule. Those who will be hurt, will vote for Wendy and not go after this one issue as a deal-breaker.
I don't mind seeing a person with a properly strapped and holstered pistol walking about any more than a policeman. You know where that gun is, and what might occur. If the person is behaving, fine. Both require a license and training and accountability.
It's the RWNJs walking around in public with automatic rifles, promoting killing the Kenyan President, who have declared 'liberal hunting season' that I can't stand.
Texas virtually allows this right now, it's the status quo.
Would I like to see it national?
No.
Do I want to live under a GOPig who sees so many of us as less than human elected?
Hell no.
Abbott will support the same if elected. Withholding a vote for Wendy over this is a vote to subject Texans to Abbott's draconian policies. If I was there, she'd get my vote.
