Saturday Night Live alum Chris Kattan was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI after allegedly plowing into a Department of Transportation truck on the 101 Freeway.
The 43-year-old actor crashed his 2011 Mercedes around 2 a.m. going westbound on the freeway in Encino, according to City News Service and CBS Los Angeles. CHP officials said a woman made a 911 call and reported Kattan's car was "weaving all over the roadway at slow speeds." Kattan entered a coned-off area where a maintenance crew was working on a guardrail and struck the DOT vehicle from behind. However, the vehicle was empty and nobody was injured, reported TMZ.
According to TMZ, the actor allegedly told authorities he was on prescription medication. He was arrested on the scene and released on $15,000 bail around 7:40 a.m., authorities told CBS Los Angeles.

Ordinarily, I don't bother with celebrity news, but we just had this happen:
Wrong-way driver was going more than 100 mph, witnesses say
The same thing happened in Argentina too, and on the east coast of the U.S.
This could have been much worse:
Kattan entered a coned-off area where a maintenance crew was working on a guardrail and struck the DOT vehicle from behind. However, the vehicle was empty and nobody was injured, reported TMZ.

TAMPA, Fla. -- A sport utility vehicle traveling the wrong way on a Florida interstate collided head-on with a sedan early Sunday, killing five people, including four University of South Florida fraternity brothers, authorities said.
The accident happened on Interstate 275 in Tampa around 2 a.m. Sunday. The SUV was going the wrong way and hit a Hyundai Sonata, which was carrying four members of the Sigma Beta Rho fraternity. The SUV driver was also killed.
Authorities identified the fraternity brothers as Jobin Joy Kuriakose, 21, Ankeet Harshad Patel, 22, Imtiyaz "Jim" Ilias, 20, and Dammie Yesudhas, 21. Florida Highway Patrol officials said they were struggling to identify the male SUV driver late Sunday because of extensive injuries from the fire.
