39. Like I explained .. this has nothing to do with Putin's homophobia

This is strictly about geopolitics.

If you want LGBT membership to be blind and treated equally, you should not bring it into other areas. That would be how repukes attacked Barney Frank ... not about his policies and legislative initiatives but over his sexual orientation. "Barney Frank's unemployment proposals are bad ... he is gay after all" kind of attitude.

You are doing the same thing from an opposite perspective .. i.e. everything Putin is doing is bad because he is homophobic.

Such blanket aspersions don't do justice for the LGBT cause. One should be able to support the "other" (LGBT-neutral) policies of someone who is gay as well as someone who is homophobic if such policies are in the best interests of people. That doesn't mean one supports being gay or one supports homophobia -- it only means one supports the given policy.
