That level of violence didn't come from a 'popular movement". A Popular movement would encompass everybody and be much more peaceful. That level of violence came from the far right who led the protests from the get go back in November. We on the hard left here at DU have been telling you this from the beginning. They were always neo-nazi's, soccer hooligans, street thugs...they gained some traction over time and centrists from the West of Ukraine started to show up to the protests. Of course $50 a day from some unknown sources was good incentive too...right around the time Victoria Nulland was handing out cookies.
Groups of those centrists were then slaughtered by snipers of that very same right wing movement in order to create an excuse to draw the EU and US in. It worked but now Frankensteins Monster can't be put back in the bottle...this killing is obviously an attempt to reel it in...but it dominates the political climate there and probably things will get a lot worse before they get better.
The stunning silence from the Western media on many of these goings ons speaks volumes. The BBC reported that the radical protesters were sniping their own people and not a peep was made in the United States. Once again here is the video evidence. To interested readers: fast forward to the 2:40 mark. The BBC reporter points out the snipers window. Prior to this the sniper had shot close to the BBC reporter.

The hard right sector and their role in all this has also been largely ignored but he mainstream US press. The Nation magazine did cover the issue as did various left leaning sites but the MSM was silent. Why would that be? Because it didn't fit the narrative...that's why. Which shows our complicit role in all this. The crime of omission speaks of the crime itself.
