Former NSA and CIA Director Michael Hayden on Sunday said that he had not seen the Senates report on the CIAs use of torture, but he was sure that it could not be objective because Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) was too emotional.
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace pointed out that the Senate Intelligence Committee report had found that the CIA had misled Congress both about the number of detainees that were tortured, and about the effectiveness of the so-called enhanced interrogation program.
Yeah, Hayden replied dismissively, noting that a Washington Post columnist had reported that Sen. Feinstein wanted a report so scathing that it would ensure that an un-American, brutal program of detention and interrogation would never again be considered or permitted.
That motivation for the report may show deep emotional feeling on the part of the senator, Hayden opined. But I dont think it leads you to an objective report.
