6. Kansas has had the DP for a few years.

But has yet to sentence anybody under it.

I briefly knew Joan Finney, the Democratic governor who let the death penalty bill pass into law without her signature. I begged her to veto it and she told me to my face that she could not do that. It went into law shortly after that meeting at the state Dem convention.

She was a Catholic pro-life Democrat. I just do not understand people's reasons sometimes.

With the way Kansas is going these days, I wonder why they have not yet used the death penalty.

I am thankful that they haven't.

I am also thankful that I live in a state that has never had the death penalty. Michigan.
