11. I went to a talk by Morris Dees a few years ago ...

and he spoke about the history of how they started the string of lawsuits they brought against Klan and other white supremacy groups, literally putting them out of business by suing them for huge civil damages on behalf of aggrieved victims or their families. It wasn't enough to convict one lyncher or shooter. They decided to bring suit against the organizations these guys belonged to. And they won. It was a novel approach, and they are an incredibly courageous organization and group of people who work tirelessly in this area. No one else is directly fighting these hateful groups in this way or so effectively. They are well worth your support. Because while they whack one mole, another springs up. And more have been springing up in these last years.
