...these two separate issues, homophobia/pedophilia, even by people who position themselves as non-homophobes.

The BSA has made great strides in combating the sexual assault issue in my experience.

To mention the sexual assault issue, in any relation to the on-going problem of the BSAs slow evolution in regards to homophobia, does not help anyone, except the homophobes.

While I do agree that the official BSA policy, which has effectively evolved into a "Do Not Ask/Do Not Tell" status for adults, does need to and will continue to evolve, there is no good reason to conflate the two topics.

I know the BSA is typically "behind the curve" on social issues, heck when I was a cub scout they still technically allowed for racially segregated units, but they are evolving in the right direction, albeit slowly.

Please refrain from unnecessarily mixing these two separate issues, it does not help.
