In reply to the discussion: Toddler critically burned during SWAT raid [View all]Swede Atlanta

9/11 was just good cover for local police forces to weaponize themselves. I think they had always wanted to play "war" but could never justify the expense of the armored personnel carriers, battle armor, etc. 9/11 gave them that cover.
We have got to stop the "war on drugs". We need to be smarter about this.
Facts
1. Drug usage and drug availability has not been affected by the war on drugs
2. De-criminalizing or legalizing at least marijuana takes the profit out of the drug trade
3. Changes to drug sentencing has to happen because our prisons are bulging with non-violent drug offenders
I hope the municipality is sued and has to pay a significant award.
Maybe they will think twice before they do this again.

Whenever the coppers ask for money for their fallen, I hang up or cut up the solicitation.

The whole point of no-knock warrants is to find drugs before they get flushed.
