could spray painting them make they unsellable by poachers ?
or can they just polish the spray off of the ivory?
don't know how people could even want Ivory knowing where it comes from

Spray pain would come off but I was wondering if there is a dye that could penetrate the ivory

It's a huge animal. I don't think it will sit still while they are cutting its tasks off.

An AK is to weak for taking down an elephant, good to go after game wardens, but not elephants.

The reports I have read is such animals are killed, so poaches will not waste time tracking them

Yes it can be done, the Horn is a product of cells that DNA tracking is possible.
