27. The Israelis already have plenty of Palestinian prisoners.

It's war, but it's not just a matter of military might. It's a battle for public opinion, too, both in Gaza and Israel and around the world. Every dead Palestinian kid--and Israel seems to be generating them by the dozens, if not the hundreds--further besmirches and isolates Israel. Hamas doesn't want the the siege, the blockade, and the open air prison that was the status quo ante. The seem determined to get some freedom before they turn off the rockets. We shall see.
