“These kids were here in this country at the invitation of the president,” the senator charged. “I think everybody knows it. Nobody says it.”

“What does that mean?” Todd asked testily.

“That means that during his DACA, the Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals, he’s making it sound as if, ‘Come here, we’ll take care of you,’” Inhofe explained, referring to the White House’s 2012 workaround of Congress after the failure of the DREAM Act. “And they all believe this, Chuck! I know you don’t believe them, but they do!”
Inhofe urged President Obama to reverse his DACA decision or risk an unending flood of young illegal immigrants — putting both the children and the United States at risk.

“It’s one thing to deal with the ones that are here now,” Inhofe concluded. “The other is to stop the flow that is coming in at the invitation of the president.”

What is DACA Status?
On June 15, 2012, President Obama announced the creation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. This program allows some young persons who are classified as undocumented immigrants to receive a two-year, renewable authorization to remain and work within the United States. These young persons are commonly called “DREAMers” after the proposed federal legislation, the DREAM Act (Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act). DREAMers were brought to the United States as children and have been raised and been educated in this country. They are Americans in every way except lack citizenship status. “They are Americans in their heart, in their minds, in every single way but one: on paper.” (1)
