In reply to the discussion: US Postal Service loses $2B this spring [View all]but the fact remains that the traditional services are less and less needed every where. I see progressives make the mistake (it seems to me) of arguing that everything is just find and dandy right now. It's not. What we should be pushing for is using the infrastructure for new services while recognizing that the old ones are slowly fading away.
