They live in a rural area? So what, does this make the parents less palbable? They have a family farm stand? Again, does the stand mean the parents provided them with a means of protection. The girls went out to deal with a customer? You mean a customer or a criminal, a child-molester, or killer? The customer turned out to be a criminal - YES, and there was NO ADULT around to warn, protect, or cause the "customer" to give pause as to what he was doing.

Again, arrest the parents - they are the assholes who put their daughters into this situation.

I would ask you - Would you allow your (if you had any) daughters to be in an unsupervised stand in a rural setting selling fruits or whatever to people driving by in a car? I sure as hell wouldn't.
