I haven't heard any indication they have any interest in charging the parents with anything. Maybe that's because the parents did nothing wrong.

I also find it odd that you refer to the crime victims (the parents) as "assholes." We know who the assholes are. They're in jail now.

I have lived in rural areas. I let my kids roam around. I didn't supervise them every minute of the day.

I have also lived in urban areas. I let my kids walk to school. By themselves. I saw recently that some cop with an attitude like yours arrested a mother for doing the same thing I and countless other parents have done.

As for your question about allowing my daughters to be in an unsupervised stand in rural selling, let's take it a step further. Why allow anybody to be at an unsupervised stand in a rural setting? It's so scary!
