and in this case it is likely that these were true black bloc.

Regarding the possibility of it being police or some other agent provocateurs; it wasn't all that many years ago that I would have considered that to be tinfoil hat stuff. Then that incident in Canada occurred where it was clear that the troublemakers (who reportedly were trying to egg on the protesters to commit violence) were wearing police issued boots, and the police were eventually forced to admit that they were undercover agents because it was obvious to the public that no one was being charged. Since then I've been much more cynical.
