In reply to the discussion: Pat Buchanan: Immigrants A 'Greater Threat' Than ISIS [View all]Cartoonist
(7,579 posts)It doesn't sound like it. When did I say the Beatles were American? I said Euro-centrism. Europe, where the white folk grow. Where white culture comes from.
I live in an area with a lot of Hispanic immigrants. Many of them are friends. I never hear any Beatles on their radios. There's nothing wrong with that, to each his own. It just means that their culture will supplant ours as their numbers increase. That's what Pat doesn't want.
And what does Boston have to do with anything I said?
Upon further examination:
The Beatles owe a lot of their success to the influence of black musicians. Most notably Chuck Berry and Little Richard. Jazz, Blues, and Rock & Roll wouldn't exist without the black man. So it's not all about Euro-centrism. Pat probably doesn't care about that, but I don't hear them on Mexican radio either.
So what are you passionate about? Do Hispanics care about what you like? If not, then prepare to watch it fade along with everything else white.
Even deeper examination:
Is not Spain part of Europe? Didn't they kill all the native Americans and rape all the women? Why is there such a cultural divide between us?
