8. Copperas Cove, Texas???? That's Fort Hood...

When you exit the gate of Fort Hood, you have two choices, go to Killeen, Texas or Copperas Cove, Texas. Both are within walking distance (male in his 20s, which means within 20 miles, I did walk to Copperas Cove when I was on my Two Week National Guard Duty in the 1980s).

Killeen is a lot closer but is geared for the Fort. Copperas Cove is further away, but a nicer community for it is NOT geared to the Fort, it is more family oriented but with a lot of people who are tied up with Fort Hood.
