I'd estimate that, in about one-third of the instances where someone posts to disagree with something I wrote, the disagreement is actually with something I didn't write.

And, like you, I've experienced this even after I expressly disclaimed the view that the other person really wanted to attack.

I can't offer you any constructive advice on dealing with the problem. It appears to be ineradicable.
