1. Ebola scare shuts down buildings at Southwestern College, students under quarantine

A student at Southwestern College who
came in contact with someone on the same
flight as Texas nurse Amber Vinson has
been quarantined Thursday in Chula Vista,
according to Anna Pryor, editor-in-chief of
the college's newspaper, The Sun.

It happened just before 10 a.m. in the 440
building at the campus located in the 900
block of Otay Lakes Road.

All students and staff in class with the
student and in the class following have
been quarantined, Pryor said. Reportedly,
about 20 students have been quarantined.
Campus police have taped off the building
and are waiting on officials from the Center
for Disease Control to arrive.

Amber Vinson, a nurse from Texas Health
Presbyterian Hospital, was recently
diagnosed with Ebola and was directed by
the CDC to board a flight from Ohio back
to Dallas. Vinson is one of the nurses who
helped take care of Thomas Eric Duncan
who died from Ebola on October 8th.
