(4,462 posts)I simply noted that if sufficient evidence does not exist to procure a good-faith conviction of Wilson beyond a reasonable doubt, that under the most basic precepts of prosecutor ethics, charges should not issue. The standards and requirements are different for both state and federal charges, yet neither authority appears to be going to trial. I also have no idea concerning all the evidence and testimony available to the authorities and state grand jury.
I also do not understand your underlying point. Are you suggesting that Officer Wilson must be charged, no less convicted, to solve the problem of racial disparities in the criminal justice system, regardless of the actual evidence available concerning this particular incident. If so, not only is that is mob justice, it does nothing to advance the goal of improving outcomes of minorities in the system.
