17. It's incredible the extent some will go to push their horrific beliefs onto others

as these parents. When I was a very small child the daughter of the family across the street had a lot of mental issues.

I was very young, but only knew she stared and stared into space and always dressed in black and veils in the heat of summer and all year around.

They were from the old country. Years later the lady across the street told my mother the daughter had had an illegitimate child and her husband with his religion and upbringing literally drove his daughter insane with all of the verbal abuse he endlessly heaped on her at home. She developed tremendous guilt and a severe depression. I feel so sorry for children trapped with horrific parents like this.
