I can name more Republican actors who later held a political career than she can name Democrats who did the same:

Charlton Heston
Arnold Schwarznegger
Ronald Reagan
Fred Grandy
Fred Thompson

The only Democrat I can think of in that category is Al Franken.

If you expand the field to ex-sports celebrities, the Repubs have a lock on that category, too:
Steve Largent
Clint Eastwood
Jim Bunning
JC Watts
Jack Kemp
Tom Osborne
