I will say this, however, having watched the Honduras coup go down in real time, I felt immeasurable disgust for how our government appeared to support the coup plotters and allowed the democratically elected president to be deposed and exiled.

It was stark, it was unmistakeable - the elites were not going to allow a leftist, non-oligarchic leader to govern Honduras.
