5. California is pretty humane about it. . . .

The state of California will classify individuals on how they perceive themselves. For instance, one of my friends is "biologically" male, but her driver's license (correctly) states "female." I haven't asked her how she obtained it or what the state asked her to submit, but she DOES have it, as I have seen it.
