In reply to the discussion: Yes, Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat and Hillary represents the very worst of the party/SALON [View all]Dustlawyer
(10,525 posts)We cannot allow our Progressive, non-corporate Democrats to go the way the moderate Republicans went. There is one key difference that makes me think our left wing will ultimately prevail where the moderate Republicans lost. The moderates that were pushed out were the old guard Republicans who didn't like how their Party was changing, but the momentum was with the far right.
In our case, the left wing of our Party is ascending, maybe not in time for this election, but still growing at the cost of the Democratic establishment. We have had enough of holding our nose and voting to prevent the bad Republican bogeyman from getting into office. If we do that it will always be our only choice. To make the changes we will have to run the risk, which I will argue that we are running a great risk already with a weak candidate who doesn't do as well as Bernie verses the Republican candidates. That is not counting the FBI investigation ongoing against her.
