Acknowledgment that Putin is bad and that spies are afoot is a negative for the Trump administration. Even when it goes to trial they could've kept saying "yeah that's not true. nope. not my voice. not me on that pee video. nope. fake pee. fake recording" and 30% of the public would believe him. But now that people are woke to the threat of Russia those cold war neuropathways will reactivate.
