They teach a lot more stuff than just how babies are made. Kids might know some things, and they are certainly exposed to a barrage of misinformation from peers, parents, movies, TV, and religions, but they don't know everything. At a minimum teachers should addresses critical issues involving consent. How to cope with sexual assault, and sexual harassment, and how to contact the authorities.

It important to teach sexual preference, transgender and LGBTQ education, and homophobia. Sexually transmitted disease must be covered thoroughly and what's necessary to stay safe and healthy.

Kids need to know what a healthy relationship is, which might not be what they see at home. They also should learn about birth control, family planning, including pregnancy, abortion, and also prenatal care, and starting parenting skills.
