It will do no good to pass all these ambitious laws if Republicans control the majority for decades to come.

America's election system is a joke. Because its not federally watchdogged. The US must be the only country on the planet that does not have federal standards and oversight............in a freakin federal election!

Why does it seem like Democrats have to make a choice......remain in power, or, do good and necessary work for Americans. Last time it was provide medical insurance to more. Yes Obama won a second term, but lost the majority and inevitably, the SCOTUS too.

If Democrats ever open up the idea of reforming federal election laws and access. Or looking at the Electoral College. You know they will get a huge backlash. Republicans do not want fair elections or they will never win again. They would frame any attempt to reform the election system as the actual Socialist takeover of America.

But like Obama rolled up his sleeves and worked on the ACA despite the backlash, Biden almost HAS to work on finding ways to "stop the steal" by Republicans, in spite of the risk. Obama's work to bring the ACA, has resulted in more Americans okay with going further...to Single Payer of some form.

The same would result in talking about the voting system. More Americans would see there is a problem. And eventually support changes. The problem is retaining enough Democrats in a majority to start to do anything
