I work as an Election Judge in Denver, CO. We have laws here that NO electioneering is to take place within 100' of a polling location. This is done to protect voters from intimidation--regardless of party. And, yes, we DO have the authority to tell people to remove themselves to the distance requirement.

We measure from the entrance of the BUILDING (not the room that is being used within the building) 100' and post signs in a radius around the entrance of the building that electioneering is prohibited.

I consider this dailykos article to be filled with inaccuracies and just an attempt to provoke outrage.
