Not to me, you'll note. It was a long time ago, and I've long come to realize the shortcomings of the man. Oddly enough, though he was free with his fists, he always pulled his punches. I conclude he didn't want to hurt me. He had a very ignorant and narrow world-view, but was not wilfully ignorant like so many. He could occasionally be reasoned with, it just took a lot of work.
