There are only two objectives of the "modern" republican party; money, and power.

If its economically feasible for republicans to dismiss 40% of modern mathematics textbooks then that's what they'll do. They don't care one bit about the educational content of said textbooks, as long as there's economic benefit to DeSantis and his coterie of yes-men.
