1. I've respected Steve S since the time I saw him w Nicolle Wallace in the darkened RNC ballroom...

… talking over the ghastly spectacle of Trump’s American Apocalypse acceptance speech.

Steve talked very movingly about our Constitution and Bill of Rights and how very far Trump and his MAGA’s were from embodying any of our foundational ideals. He literally choked up.

Can’t remember what Nicolle said — I got to know her better as the excellent anchor/journalist that she has become in MSNBC.

But the enduring lesson for me has been that we have friends and allies out there, and for my part, I am glad to embrace them.
