since you are about 2 1/2 times more likely to be struck than to be shot by a ccw holder regardless why shot...(the vast, vast majority of ccw shootings are legitimate self defense.)

Yeah, life is a risk. Do you wear your seat belt? Have a fire extinguisher? Smoke detectors? A storm plan? A few days worth of food and water during storm seasons? Fence around the swimming pool? Locks on the doors of your home? A jack and spare tire in your car?..Do you try to mitigate possible risks to yourself and family? Yeah, most smart people do at least some of these things..

Lucky you if you can live in an area which is so safe you haven't a care in the world..not everybody has that good fortune..

BTW, I carried for work for years before my state had shall issue ccw..I changed careers because I tired of carrying a gun everyday..I haven't carried for 5 years..don't even have a permit any longer. Anyone who can pass a background check to buy a gun should be allowed to defend themselves with a gun..46 (IIRC) states have shall issue concealed carry...not one has a credible bill, even in discussion, to repeal..the proof is in the stats...
