2. All of the gerrymandering in states where they can still do it won't yield more than a small handful of seats.

If it yields that. I've already seen articles that say that at least three of the five districts Texas shifted show polling data that favors the Democrats. And splitting up the majority black district in Tennessee may give enough Democratic votes to win at least one more seat there. The whole south would only amount to 5 seats, and they're going to lose close to 40, maybe more.
