U.S. Army Veteran Calls on Thompson to End Dishonest Campaign of Lies and Take Down False Ad Immediately

MILWAUKEE – TODAY, U.S. Army Veteran Joel Chappelle released a letter written to Tommy Thompson where he joined September 11 family members and 9/11 first responders in calling on Thompson to end his dishonest campaign of false attacks and lies.

Last Friday, family members who lost loved ones on September 11th and 9/11 first responders released letters written to Thompson asking that stop running a “false” “dishonest” and “disgusting” TV ad where Thompson tries to use September 11th for his own political gain.

Today, Chappelle called on Thompson to take down another false ad immediately, writing, “Today, I join September 11 family members and 9/11 first responders in calling on you to end your dishonest campaign of false attacks and lies. I call on you to take this false ad down immediately. Tommy, one thing is clear, you have no shame. “

Chappelle’s Letter To Tommy Thompson:

Dear Tommy,

My name is Joel Chapelle I am a native of Greendale, Wisconsin and currently live in St. Francis. I served in the National Guard from 1997-2000, and was active duty Army from 2000-2003.

Last week you released a dishonest and disgusting ad that independent fact checkers called “false.” Family members who lost loved ones on September 11th and 9/11 first responders have released letters written to you, Tommy Thompson asking that you end your dishonest TV ad campaign that tries to use September 11th for your own political gain.

Now, you have doubled down on your campaign of lies and you are once again questioning Tammy Baldwin’s patriotism and her strong support for our brave soldiers and veterans.
