more money and have more power over people, so that they can order them
around and manipulate them as they wish. And their deficient sense of
morality allows them to use all means - fair and foul - to reach their goal. This
includes (for example) causing other people's death, which is something that
the non-sociopath would not knowingly do. But it wouldn't bother the sociopath
at all. This allows a larger number of them to succeed at gaining power. They
just don't mind doing any kind of dirty tricks at all -- as long as it's helpful to
achieving their goals.

Between 2% and 4% of the general population are sociopaths. But a far higher
percentage of them are in high positions of power as compared to the
percentage of those who are non-sociopaths.
